Home The Campbell Collaboration (C2) Education Coordination Group, supported by the Department of Psychology II at the University of Mannheim, is organizing a workshop on performing systematic reviews.
This training program has been designed to provide PhD, doctoral, or research level participants with the fundamental background required to conduct a systematic review of treatment, intervention, therapy, or instruction in the area of education. The workshop will take place at the University of Mannheim (Germany) and encompass two consecutive sessions: In the first session, held between February 12-15, 2008, participants will - Select a Topic for Review
- Develop a Draft Protocol to include
- Learn Information Retrieval Strategies
- Coding Form
- Quality Assessment Standards
- Methodological Criteria for
- Study Inclusion
- Statistical Analysis
In the second session, held between June 24-27, 2008, participants will: - Learn how to use Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software
- Conduct the analyses for studies collected to include:
- Effect Size Calculations
- Sensitivity Analysis
- Publication Bias Analysis
- Synthesize Effects Sizes
- Heterogeneity Analysis
- Missing Data Analysis
- Prepare a Draft version of the final review.
In between these two sessions, participants will have the opportunity to closely interact with instructors and other participants with the aid of a Web-based learning and collaboration system. The workshop is explicitly designed to facilitate the completion of a systematic review in the area of education. An outlet for the publication and broad dissemination of completed reviews will be provided by the Campbell Collaboration Education Coordination Group.
